October 2025
Hi everyone,
Another busy month in September with class numbers remaining constant, a great turnout for our September freestyle and guest teaching.
The workshop at the Chanctonbury Leisure Centre in Storrington was a huge success. We had 24 attendees and the feedback was all positive. I’m continuing the conversations with Chanctonbury to see how we can provide dance classes in the area more frequently.
Our guest teaching slot at DiscoJive’s freestyle in Herstmonceux on Friday 5th September and their Uckfield class on Tuesday 16th September also went down well. So well in fact, that we’ve been invited back on the 14th October and 11th November in Uckfield and 5th December in Herstmonceux. Check out their socials for details.
Fact of the month: 1st October 1949 - the establishment of the People’s Republic of China by Mao Zedong in Beijing. Celebrity Birthday: Julie Andrews - b.1935

Beginners Playlist
I’ve been asked, many times, what music is suitable for beginners. There is no simple answer as each persons taste is different. However, the tempo of the music is a good guide. 110-120 beats per minute (BPM) is a comfortable tempo for beginners.
I have created a playlist on Spotify that contains a broad range of music style from the 70’s onwards and I’ve listed 10 below for reference. The full playlist can be found here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3anyASBoQbomBYcwbHyLl9?si=Vrx5PsGMSUKBm6LgaeOXlQ

- Another Love (Zwette Remix) - Tom Odell
- Fuoco nel fuoco - Eros Ramazotti
- All about the Bass - Meghan Trainer

- Senorita - Shawn Mendes
